Is ShowChoir suitable for beginners and non-singers?
Absolutely. Most of our members had never sung in a choir before joining. There are no auditions, and we teach every song from scratch, step by step.
What if I'm nervous or think I'm not a good singer?
That's completely normal, and you're in good company. Our sessions are friendly, supportive and judgement-free. You'll sing as part of the group, never alone unless you want to.
Will I fit in if I come on my own and don't know anyone?
Yes. Lots of members first came on their own. Our team will welcome you, introduce you to others and make sure you feel at home from your first session.
Is ShowChoir just for fun, or is it serious and demanding?
It's both. We work towards great-sounding performances, but the focus is on fun, friendship and feeling good. There's no pressure, and you go at your own pace.
Can ShowChoir really help build my confidence?
Many members tell us it has. Learning new songs, singing with others and performing as a group are great ways to grow your confidence, on and off stage.
How long is a Free Taster Session?
A Free Taster Session lasts the length of a normal rehearsal, so you get a real feel for what being a member is like. Full timings are shown when you book.
What should I bring to my Free Taster Session?
Just yourself, a bottle of water and comfortable clothes. Everything else, including lyrics, is provided.
What happens during a taster session?
You'll be welcomed by the team, join in with a warm-up and learn part of a song alongside our members. Sit back and listen whenever you like; there's no pressure to do anything you're not comfortable with.
Can I bring a friend to my Free Taster Session?
Of course. Coming along with a friend is a great way to try it together. Ask them to book their own free place so we know to expect you both.
What happens after my Free Taster Session?
We'll be in touch to see how you found it. If you loved it, you can become a member and carry on singing with us straight away.
Where and when does the choir rehearse?
Rehearsals take place weekly at our local venues. Your venue, day and time are confirmed when you book your Free Taster Session.
What sort of songs do you sing?
A wide mix of pop, musical theatre, chart hits and feel-good classics, arranged so they're fun to learn and great to perform.
Do I have to take part in performances?
No. Performances are a fantastic part of ShowChoir, but they're always optional. Many members join simply for the weekly rehearsals.
Are rehearsal venues accessible?
We choose venues with accessibility in mind. If you have specific needs, please contact us before your session and we'll do everything we can to help.
How much is ShowChoir membership?

What do my membership fees cover?
Your fees cover weekly rehearsals, expert tuition, song arrangements, lyric sheets and access to vocal practice tracks in the Members Area.
Is there an Online Choir option?
Our Online Choir is coming very soon - learn and sing along from home. Contact us for details..
What if I need to cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership by contacting us. Please see our Terms & Conditions for full details of notice periods.
Do I need to read sheet music?
Not at all. We teach everything by ear, and lyric sheets are provided. No musical experience is needed.
How do I access lyric sheets and vocal practice tracks?
Members can access lyric sheets and vocal practice tracks for every song through the Members Area, so you can practise anytime.
